Q: Who can enter?
A: Any person, not younger than 12 years old by January 2010, no matter what race or gender with a valid club racing license. You must also be a member of a recognized motorsport organization. If not, you can log on to http://www.ms2000.co.za/
Q: Can the bike be ridden as a roadworthy road bike as well? I have kids that want to race bikes, but need to get to school too. ?
A: Bikes are new, so they are roadworthy. As soon as the race kits are fitted , it becomes quite a issue to convert them back to roadworthy .
Q: Can I finance the bike?
A: Most certainly. This bike is sold as a road legal bike & finance can be obtained through recognised financial institutions with assistance from your local Kawasaki Dealer. You also retain the road kit (fairing, headlamp, indicators, etc). If you choose to stop racing, the bike can be converted to a legal roadbike & be sold as such.
Q: Can you ensure that bike modifications don’t creep in and that everyone enters with the right spirit of competing on the same platform?
A: When the bikes are bought the engines are sealed by a rep from Motorsport SA . We will also run them all on a dyno at the start of the season to get the average per bike . Any extreme output figures will be picked up from this . You can also download the regulations where you will note that MSA applies severe penalties on anyone breaking rules on modifications
Q: I really hope that the series stay regional. Travel time and cost to far regions may impact
decisions to join. ?
A: The series is only regional, currently racing at Phakisa, Kyalami, Midvaal & Zwartkops .
Q: Do you have an estimate of total cost for the year, excluding major repairs for crashing, my guess is at least double the cost of the bike?
A: See the cost section on this website for further details.
Q: Do you still have space available?
A: At the moment yes. However, there is a lot of interest in the series & space is filling up fast. Grid will be limited
Q: Riding gear
A: As specified by MSA for circuit motorcycle racing. You can go to http://www.motorsport.co.za for more info.
Q: What modifications are allowed?
A: Go to regulations & download the document
